Fundraiser Fun
Colcord Band kicked off our annual cookie-dough fundraiser last week. It is my favorite fundraiser of all, because the cookie dough is SOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!! ^-^ Everyone knows it. That is why we keep doing it; so many people have had it before and know how good it is. Tomorrow is when the orders are due, so today is my last day to do some fundraising. Usually I do almost nothing, barely reaching my goal, if I even reach it at all. I never really saw the importance of doing it, so I never really got serious about it. However, this year’s trip will be my last, and any money that I make and do not spend, I get to keep. That’s a lot of motivation to me, because I need money! With a van that gets 13 mi/gal, and a home way out in the sticks, any dollar you can get you will need. So often I run out of cash just because of gas prices. Several times I have had to ask for $2 on a Wednesday evening from my friends just so that I could eat, all because of gas. I can’t afford anything else. I can’t buy gum, get a new pair of shoes, buy a soda, or any of those things because I’m so busy working for more gas money. Anyway, the point of this is to show you what a change in circumstances will do to your actions. Now that I see unlimited potential in gas money and a real souvenier in Kansas City, I am asking all around. So far I have sold 39 items, which will give me about $140 towards my trip. It only takes maybe $50 to go.
My sister thought the same way until the day before also…the results? I sold 51 tubs, and she 30. That’s the most anyone has ever sold to my knowledge.
